Let's start from the recent and move backward...
Friday afternoon I sat in the audience for the dress rehearsal of the Broadway production of "Catch Me If You Can" at the Neil Simon Theatre. What a joy to see Tony Award Winning Producer Wendy Federman looking radiant. Whispers in the crowd that Matthew Broderick was in the audience. Jamie DeRoy (Singer, Producer) was there also looking stunning: Ms. DeRoy will be performing at Feinstein's Sunday April 17. Treat yourself and see Jamie DeRoy. Back to the stage and the production: First the cast of "Catch Me If You Can" is so great, and the music fun, fun - a real treat. The show takes some of the film lines verbatim, and it works - big time. I had an excellent time and wouldn't mind seeing this again. This show is going to please audiences for a long time!
I had an exhilarating conversation with Joey Arias and am looking forward to working with him on A Playground Twist 2011 on stage. Before A Playground Twist, you can catch Joey at Town Hall in April 2011. My interview with the playwright, D.K. Polanco, will be posted soon, and my conversations with the Lady Bunny and Steven Hayes (of the film Trick and beyond ...) will soon be posted. I can report the Lady Bunny has been in L.A. filming for the big screen.
So, this is the best I can do for now. Maybe once the coffee and my bike ride give me a boost, I'll have more for you ...
